Jabber - Using office phone from off-campus

Jabber is a software application that allows you to use your on-campus office phone number to make and receive phone calls from off-campus.  This is useful when you need to make work calls from off-campus or take calls that are coming in. When making calls from the software, it will look like it is coming from your office phone number. It can be installed on various devices such as computer, laptops, tablets, and all mobile devices. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: RedSky MyE911 must also be installed/configured when using Jabber. Click here for details

How to Access:

If you have a CCSU-issued computer, it is available to install from Software Center (Windows) or Jamf Self-Service (Mac).  

If you have a non-CCSU (personal computer), it is available for download and install from: https://www.webex.com/downloads/jabber.html 

Jabber is also available via the App Store for mobile devices.

Review the Jabber Installation and Configuration Guide for log on instructions.

How to Request:

All faculty/staff assigned a direct phone number have access to Jabber.

To request to have Jabber configured for a departmental phone number, please email your request to techsupport@ccsu.edu and include the extension in your request.
